Call (415) 494-4774 any hour and a truck leaves the Outer Sunset for your block. This is the shop where Alfonso started.
Springs, cables, openers, panels and new doors, with the price in writing before we start. Every San Francisco neighborhood and the Peninsula and East Bay cities listed below run from this shop.
The shop faces Ocean Beach at 1726 Great Hwy, between Lincoln Way and Sloat Blvd in the Outer Sunset. Trucks roll from here to every San Francisco neighborhood, down the Peninsula, across the Golden Gate to Marin, and across the bay to Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda and San Leandro.
The shop is a few blocks south of Golden Gate Park, near the end of the N Judah line at Judah and La Playa.
Since September 2026 those cities are handled by our Richmond office at 3701 Barrett Ave, (510) 426-9500. Call either number and you reach Alfonso.
San Francisco garages are narrow, old and often under a bedroom. The Great Highway shop is set up for that.
Salt fog from the Sunset to the Richmond District corrodes springs and cables faster than anywhere inland. We stock coated high-cycle springs and galvanized cables for exactly that.
Marina flats, Noe Valley Victorians and Sunset row houses share one problem: eight-foot ceilings and a door that has to clear a low header. Low-headroom track and side-mount openers are standard on the truck.
This shop never closes. A door stuck open on 19th Ave at 2 AM gets a tech that night at the same repair price as daytime.
Same parts and the same written price as every Alfonso truck. Call (415) 494-4774 and tell us what the door is doing.
Same price list as every Alfonso truck. These are starting prices, parts plus labor. What can raise the price: two springs instead of one, a heavy, insulated, wood or oversized door, worn cables, rollers or drums we find on the visit, or a part we have to order. You get the exact figure in writing before we start, and the diagnostic comes off the bill once you approve the repair.
| Job | Starting price |

Repair pricing is the same after hours as during the day. Full breakdowns by job are on the garage door repair cost guide.
Yes. (415) 494-4774 is answered around the clock and a tech goes out from the Outer Sunset at any hour. Repair pricing is the same day or night. The diagnostic starts at $45 and costs more after hours and is credited toward the repair.
Not anymore. Since September 2026 Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Pinole, Hercules, Albany and Kensington are handled by our Richmond office at 3701 Barrett Ave, (510) 426-9500. Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda and San Leandro still run from San Francisco.
Call first. Most of our stock rides on the trucks, so we'll confirm the part is at the shop and set it aside for you.
Each neighborhood page is written from real jobs on those blocks.
Alfonso Garage Door runs two offices. Both answer the phone around the clock.
